QMyAdmin
What is it?
QMyAdmin is an administrative tool to control and to manage a MySQL/MariaDB
server. It allows you to create, to drop and to change properties of any user,
including itself. The main goal to write it was a simplicity of managing of a
server(s).
What is the difference between phpMyAdmin and
QMyAdmin?
Speaking shortly, our tool allows you to control the server, instead of
phpmyadmin, also qmyadmin works locally (in your computer). With QMyAdmin
you can control connections of other users, with special privileges you can
close that connections, and more...
QMyAdmin can be extended by loading new plugins.
Currently we have plugins for grants, processlist, plugins, engines, charsets
and tuning.
BUGS
Unfortunately, our program has many bugs, but most of it should be fixed, anyway
we hope all other ones are non-critical.
TODO
We need one more plugin that allows to manage the contents of a server, i. e.
to make a dump of a database(s) (or some table) like a mysqldump does it, to
restore contents from such files, also we want to copy data between different
servers and the most important for us: to edit internal objects such as
stored procedures, functions, triggers and events without dumping of its code.
But, of course, in current version we have many internal architecture problems
which don't allow us to do it all.
Some screenshots to explain how it works
If you have some questions/suggetions/pathes, mail us to denis (at) silversoft (dot) net
and don't forget to specify the subject "QMyAdmin", accepted languages are
english and russian.
Now bad news: english, as you see, is not our native language, we'd like to fix
all program messages in english to translate correct messages to other languages,
so, if you are a native english speaker, mail us (please!) and your name will be added
in "Special thanks to" section ;-)
And last: don't forget that it is a free program, that means
no warranties and limited support.
Tested on
Solaris (OpenIndiana
because it is the main development platform),
FreeBSD, Linux Ubuntu, Linux Mint and Mac OS X
